The first Alliance Arts Council performing arts season was in 1985-1986. The initial AAC Board of Directors was comprised of Evelyn Bauer, Darrell Berg, Marcy Giles, Oralene Hofmann, Greg Kosmicki, Cindy Randall, and Albert Reddish.
The people of Box Butte County will enjoy a variety of quality artistic and cultural events and opportunities that attract all segments of the community.
The schools in Box Butte County will welcome arts and cultural events and opportunities as a regular part of their students’ education.
The arts will be well-supported by local entities. Funding will be readily available because of the recognized stewardship of the Alliance Arts Council.
Develop a budget that would allow us to bring high-profile artists to our community.
The first events hosted by the Alliance Arts Council were a concert by The Ravnan Two and an artist-in-residence by the Gulizia Brothers. 1986 marked the first year that season tickets were sold; there were 63 members/season ticket holders. Adult price was $25 and student/senior was $20.
Cindy Randall was named the AAC Executive Director in 1991.
The AAC established the endowment in 2001 and continues to add to this fund to preserve our future.
Each year the Alliance Arts Council presents a Fall to Spring season which includes four performing arts events, a week long in-school residency targeting 4th graders and a month long visual art exhibit. The AAC currently averages 100-150 season tickets/members each year.

The Alliance Arts Council (AAC) is committed to providing a welcoming, equitable and inclusive environment in the diverse activities and programming that we offer. We believe that the arts are essential to the quality of life of every person in our rural locale. We will be mindful of and responsive to each individuals set of needs.
The AAC will provide opportunities and access to the arts for people of all race, color, religion, sex, age, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, military service, citizenship status, ancestry, or disability.
Action
Address inequities for under-represented artists, children and adults
Pursue cultural consciousness throughout our organization, providing ongoing DEI training to all AAC Board members. (Or could be just our Committee with a report to the Board) I will find a short YouTube training video.
Ensure continued data collection that leads to informed decision making
Embed education and advocacy into our arts celebrations, specific to our community needs
Action
Commit to engage the cultures that are prevalent in our region
Book artists that celebrate diversities
Promote events in ways that every person in our region is provided the same opportunities and services (ie: placing posters in areas frequented by underserved individuals not only in high traffic areas).
Meet people where they are rather than making them come to us for input.
Collaborate with other arts organizations to build inclusion strategies.
Action
Broaden the impact of our arts offerings and foster activities which create connections between community members. Reflect the diversity of our community in these offerings.
Ensure that all of our events are welcoming and comfortable and that they are responsive to the needs of our community.
Provide activities that are affordable and held at accessible locations so that all can fully participate
Expand our audience by being more visible in our attempts to represent all members of our community equally.
